cruising straight to halloween

It’s almost time! Halloween is upon us! And we are READY!!!

The candies have been bought, the decorations have been up for a while, we have a regular requests for Halloween pajama comes bedtime, and now we have a daily Halloween parade happening every night in our house, cause I am FINALLY done with their Cars costumes! Although I’ve spent a lot of time making some pretty amazing Halloween costumes for my friends and I over the years, especially back in our early twenty’s when we would go out all night on Halloween night and win prizes, well this year’s costumes will definitely go down as the most time consuming, space taking and glue gunning costumes EVER. If the kids complain about the weight of their costumes, I’m blaming it on the glue! And then I’m telling them to shut up and forcing them to wear it a little more! (I’d like to specify that I won’t really be doing that; got to be careful with humor nowadays).

So, I’ve always been Cars obsessed, like, ever since the first movie came out… and this was one of the first Pixar movie I’ve showed the boys… and just like me, they’ve been in love with McQueen and his friends since. But last year, our love for Cars grew to a whole new level after we visited Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. So, since going to Disney, with the last Cars movie coming up last summer, it basically was a McQueen year at our house with Cars everywhere. I knew the second I saw a boxed costume of McQueen on Pinterest that I needed to step up my glue-gunning-skills and get to work. Cause after all, I needed 2 cars.

Back in August, I loaded my house with huge cardboard boxes I was able to find, and then invaded my kitchen with fabrics and all kinds of crafty thing I knew I’d need for this project. Now that they’re done, I can say I am in LOVE with how they turned out; just not sure it was worth the 15 hours it took to make each of them. Yep, I guess I really love Cars and craft and Halloween to spend that much time on DIY kids costumes. But I mostly did it before the admiring eyes of my boys, looking at it every steps of the way (probably wondering when it would actually look like Cars!), sometimes helping me, so it was all worth it!

Liam wanted to be Cruz Ramirez, and Logan, his beloved Lightning. So after many hours of works, last Sunday morning, both cars were finally declared done and ready for a test drive. One look at them riding their new cars and I knew it was well worth the mess. They kept on running and laughing and bumping each other, and then even agreed to go out to take pictures. Liam even asked me to put a Cars song on my cell phone and put it in his car to make like a car radio… so he was cruising while listening to the Cars soundtrack… I just love when they ask for small things like that that reminds me of things I would have also asked as a kid. He’s after my heart this one! He also requested a Cars Day. I guess I’m rubbing off on him! So now we’re planning to have one of those on November 7 when the new movie will be out on Blue Ray, so they can sit in their cars and watch the movie, Drive-In style!

But for now, we’ll continue to parade in our costumes, and you might even spot us on the streets, dancing and singing ‘Life could be a dream, life could be a dream, sha-boom, sha-boom’! All that, of course, while patiently waiting for October 31st for the real Lightning and Cruz parade. Hoping the next few days go by fast so I can eat some of my kids mini chocolate bars! Ka-Chow!!!

camp woods part II

Since this week will probably be one of the nicest we’ve had all summer, I think it’s a perfect timing for sharing the last few weeks of Camp Woods Summer 2017! In all honesty, and we probably all feel the same way here, even if I go back in memories, as far as I can remember, summer 2017 was definitely one of the worst summer ever. It feels like it rained basically every day, with everything outside being wet all the time, making it so difficult to plan ahead for a full day of activities, and apparently making it even more difficult for Brian to cut the grass weekly! Oh well.  Still, I got to say that I did enjoy my time off, but it feels like there were no memorable pool days or parties, and only a few bouncy-castle-day-out in the backyard, with everything depending on my weather network app while always waiting for the next sunny day to come by; and like I said, there was not a lot of them (but that didn’t stop us from having fun!!!).

Like I’ve explain before in Camp Woods 2016 and Camp Woods part 1 of 2017, I try to find activities that will interest the boys, as well as myself, with a theme, an outings or with meals. Early during my last week before I went back to work, Liam decided to join me in watching Harry Potter. I always knew he would love it but I wasn’t sure it was aged appropriate. But as I was watching the first movie, one morning while cooking, he joined me in the kitchen and sat on the counter and he was immediately glued right there. I changed the language to French for him (outch! so funny in French!) and explained that it was just a story, that everybody were friends in real life by showing him some pictures of the actors from the net, while making sure he understood as the story unfolded. So our last theme week was Harry Potter and just like that, a new addict was born!  Probably one of my favorite week ever, well, right behind the countdown-to-Disneyland-week we had last year, as nothing won’t probably ever beat that!

Since that last week off at home watching the movies coincided with the Harry Potter 20th anniversary, well, of course we made a cake! Just like the one Hagrid brings to Harry. Also made notebooks themed after every houses, of course I’m Gryffindor!  Oh, AND wands!  We had a blast making them; with chopsticks, glue gun and paint! Done within minutes and hours of fun. Of course, there is the occasional eye poke, but mostly, I was turned into a frog by one and then into a flower by the other!

We also had to have a Moana week. That movie, let me tell you, AMAZING, both for adults and kids. If you haven’t seen it with your kids yet, do it now! The soundtrack is just awesome, and it’s still is even after you’ve listened to it a 1000 times. We made Kakamora from real coconuts. They’ve learned how to open coconuts to release the water; and they do NOT like coconut water!!! So once empty, we painted faces on them and glued arms and legs. So fun to make. We found the cutest free Pinterest Moana Bingo and played so many games. And then we got dress up… I had to be Moana! Liam Pua and Loggy was Hey-Hey! Made leis out of ferns and flowers from our backyard. It was awesome… all that was missing was the ocean!

We had another Nemo week this year; but what can I say, we just love the movies so much! I was lucky enough to find the cheapest and best craft at my local dollar store: Felt Sew Kits of Dory and Nemo. Perfect for their first sewing experience. Made my mama’s (and lifetime sewer’s) heart so proud. Painted fishies with our hands and played for hours in the pool, all pretending to be lost fishes, just like Dory.

Star Wars week was cut short because we decided to go on a road trip last minute; but we still managed to make pool noodles lightsabers. Had a Star Wars pic nic, and played with our Tsum Tsum making stop motion animation. The boys love to do that; they could spend hours making them and watching them. I love when they can’t stop laughing at their own little short films!  So cute.

So, now that it’s mid-September already, I’m just like everyone else, wondering where the summer went. But all that will be shortly forgotten if this week’s perfect weather lasts for a while… cause with the next 6 weekends being jam packed with some of our favorite activities, it would make it so much more enjoyable with some great fall weather. And after the shitty summer we just got, come on, we deserve it!!!

Well, sunny or not, I’ve spotted my first pumpkin this morning, and it made me happy, cause Halloween is coming and everything is good in the world (well for me!) when it’s Halloween!!!

camp woods-part 1

Well, it took a while for the summer to start, but now it seems like it’s flying by so quickly; with half of it already gone by.  Camp Woods is something I started 3 years ago… being at home for the summer months with the boys, I didn’t want them to get bored -or to get bored myself!!!- doing the same old things every day.  So when spring time comes I always start looking online for some fun crafts and activities to do with them; you know, things that might interest us, movies we will want to see and stuff we will have fun to do at home.  I always consider their ‘flavor of the week’, and the things they love at the moment, and then I start planning ahead for my homemade summer camp!  Every week has its own little special twist including a few fun activities and surprises!  I’m not a strict camp monitor, so we go with the flow and add or remove stuff as the weeks go by.  This year the boys are still into Disney, Mario Bros, Cars and Minions.  We will also have a Minecraft week soon -although I hate everything about Minecraft- since the boys are really into it!

So here’s a few things we did the last few weeks:

-went for ice cream cone on Monday morning

-made popsicles sticks painted with Cars characters

-baked Minions cookies, then sneaked them into the theater to watch the movie

-made Minions sundaes

-had a last minute sleep over with our cousins

-built Cars Land in my kitchen and dining room, using basically everything we own

-made mini-pizza and had a pic-nic in our basement when it rained

-watch way to many movies (cause it just keeps on raining)

-made Mickey Mouse shaped avocado and egg sandwiches (all sandwiches should be eaten like that)

-built outside forts

-made some Mickey hats

-went to the cottage for paddle board and sea-doo

-made a Mickey Mouse ice cream cone (and nope, I didn’t share that one with the boys… made one and ate it while they were playing downstairs!!!)

-played at the park

-took the bouncer out of the garage every week to play outside with our neighbors

-tried to learn swimming with swimmers

-and much much more

Honestly, this year is a little bit harder… they aren’t as excited about all of this like they were before.  And we find ourselves with -probably- the same problem other parents face as well: the iPad thing.  Well, electronics in general in our case, with the iPad being the worst one, or their favorite one.  We don’t have cable or satellite so they don’t asked for TV much; but every day is a struggle to keep them away from the iPad.  So we had to set limits that we try to respect, but still, it seems like all they want to do as soon as they have a minute without anything planned is to play on the DS, or iPad, or Wii.  So that’s why I got to start planning my summer activities in the spring to keep them entertained!!!

So two weeks ago, we left the boys with my mom and then had a night out in Montreal.  We had bought tickets a while ago to go see Cirque du Soleil.  And it was awesome!!!  We can’t wait to bring the boys to see one, probably this one later this summer!  After the show we took a stroll on the docks of the Vieux Port and it was the best.  It had been a while since we’ve been there, and it was so nice.  With so many activities for both adults and kids.  As always, there were nice patios, but also zip lines, and shows and some shopping on a boardwalk.  For the kids, there was a bouncy pirate castle land, some ropes courses (not for kids, but for teens, or close-to-be teens), IMAX and so much more.  We plan to visit with my sister-in-law later this summer.  It was nice to be out just the two of us; we need to make more time for date nights like that.  And Cirque du Soleil is always a winner for us as we both love it so much.

So this week is all about Logan.  Baby Loggy is turning 5 on Friday and I want to savor and bottle up his last days of being 4.  He’s so excited about his ‘music’ birthday, it’s all he talks about, he doesn’t even realise how distressed I am that my baby is turning 5.  I will share some pictures of his birthday party next week… but let’s just say that I made some of the most fun and hilarious kids Beatles costumes ever!  I’m sure birthday number five will also be one to remember!

With 4 weeks left before going back to work, I want to spend more one on one time with the boys, I want to put the electronics aside a little and plan together what we want to do!  Let me know what are your summer plans, the fun things your family do, and your tricks for getting them off the freakin iPad!!!

float like a cadillac, sting like a beemer

It’s already June, the summer is here, it’s the end of the school year, the days keep on going by so quickly, there’s so much to do at work, but you know what… by the end of the week, no matter what, I’ll be on VACATION for two full months.

It seems like our minds have been on over-drive for Lighting McQueen, Mater and their friends for the last couple of weeks.  We’ve known about Cars 3, the new Disney/Pixar movie, coming out for almost a year now and the boys have been counting the days for at least the last 30 of them.

We had planned on seeing the movie on Saturday night at the drive-in, cause watching Cars in a car is a must!  We actually saw Cars 2 in Lake George 6 years ago at the drive-in with 6 month old Liam sitting/sleeping on my lap, and we loved it!  But on Thursday night, after a long day at work I decided to surprise the boys with a last minute trip to the theater to watch the movie premiere.  They were ecstatic.  And we all fell in love with the movie, all over again.

Two weeks ago, at 1 am, while not sleeping and scrolling on Facebook, I found a meet-Lightning-McQueen-event at the Kanata Canadian Tire.  The next morning, we had breakfast, packed our toy cars, drove to Kanata and got in line.  We arrived early, so by 10:05 we had already had our picture taken.  We then played with remote controlled Cars for a little while before driving back home.  So happy we had decided to go early… we did NOT end up waiting an hour and a half like some of the other moms did.

After meeting McQueen, the boys started to watch the two Cars movies and play with their little cars non-stop.  So let’s just say that my summer Camp Woods tradition is back and last week was Cars week!  The boys bought cars from the new movie with their chore money, we played games, they wore matching pj’s (of course my fav!) and then it was drive-in time!

We spent Saturday morning buying treats and fun drinks, baking a cake and making McQueen eyes for our car (a must for watching Cars at the drive-in, right?).  Brian was really not impressed with my suggestion (more like me begging to do it!!!) to install the McQueen eyes right before entering the drive-in lot.  Well, I think he may have considered doing it for a second, but then said no!  That did not stopped me… cause that’s the first thing I did right after he had stopped the car!

It was really hot and humid, but thankfully the rain and storm held off.  So while I was installing my McQueen eyes, Brian was installing something almost as essential as popcorn at the Gatineau drive-in: nets on our windows!  At our local drive-in there are two large movie screens, hundreds of cars and a lot of mosquitos… or billions of mosquitos as Brian kept complaining about before, during and after the movie.  So we ate tons of crap and sweets with the saltiest popcorn ever!  It was just great.  The boys and myself seated in the front while Brian and Jojo watched the movie on the back seat with their own wine mini-bar!  We had to crank up the air conditioner once in a while, but beside that, it was pretty quiet other than the casual KA-CHOW the boys made every time they saw McQueen doing something funny!

I didn’t expect crying during Cars 3, but boy I did.  I was so nostalgic… and, you know what, it was not only because of how much I love McQueen… but more because things are changing so much, the boys are growing up so fast, and the world seems so messed up sometimes, all around us, while all we’re actually trying to do is to find our place and be healthy and keep on enjoying small things that make us happy.

Well, there are no better things in life than spending a Saturday night, all snuggling in our car, making memories and laughing all together.  I hope the boys will remember these summer nights for as long as I will.  ‘Forever could never be long enough for me; together could never be close enough for me’ as long as I have them both sitting on my lap for an entire movie at the drive-in! (BTW, lyrics from the group Train).

So, for all Cars Movie lovers, this new movie is a must. We will probably end up seeing it again in the theater in the next few weeks.  And so should you!  But until then, we will continue to have fun, to enjoy life and summer, while keep on racing to the finish line… KA-CHOW!!!

may the fourth be with you

In our home, any reason is a good one to celebrate!  So now that the boys are into Star Wars, ‘May the Fourth be with you’ was a good reason enough to have our own little Star Wars waffle party.

I found a Star Wars waffle maker back in December at Wal-Mart; and of course I had to buy it 5 months in advance just for May 4th; and as I expected, it was a hit with the boys.

So we whipped up some batter, dressed up in our Star Wars pj’s, and ate whipped cream and delicious maple syrup waffles.  All that while watching Star Wars Lego.

We will also have a Star Wars week during Camp Wood this summer, so I didn’t want to go overboard with the activities.  I’ll have to keep them entertained all summer long after all, which won’t be an easy task, so I must keep some interesting stuff up my sleeves!  Last week we ended up painting terra cotta pots with their favorite Star Wars characters and then planted a plant in it for their room.  Let see how long these last… as they are supposed to take care of it!  Yeah right.

It’s fun to have some out of the ordinary day in the middle of the week.  It changes the routine, and they just love doing stuff during the week that we usually do during the weekend.  So find a day, find a theme, and go along for some out the ordinary fun this week!

I’ve also included a little video of Liam, playing the Star Wars Theme song.  I’m so happy he’s playing the piano.  Let’s hope he continues to love it.  We’re so proud of you!

May the Fourth be with you!

throwback thursday: a peter pan birthday

It’s a little throwback Thursday birthday post!

The day my Logan turned 2 with an outdoor Peter Pan bash!  And it was one of my favorite parties of them all.

The Pan story has always been a favorite of mine.  Magic, pirates, mermaids and children that don’t want to grow up.  I loved the story as a kid, but I see another side of it as a mom… as one of the most difficult thing with children, is time.  I never have enough, their presence is like pixie dust and being with them is magic!

My Logy baby is not one that want many things, he’s very content with whatever he can find, doesn’t ask for much and he loves his family.  So, this time I chose the theme (like always, but I pretend it’s their idea, like inception!!!) and made it extra special for my little lost boy!

Summer parties are so much easier.  We used to live outside the city.  It had a huge backyard.  And the parties were amazing!

This time around, I created a space similar to the movie; we had a pirates and foam swords section, mermaids/pool, a tee-pee, and of course and outdoor movie theater!  That was the most fun to create.  Found some really cheap fabric to drape over the wooden frame my husband had built.  Stapled an old sheet for the backdrop and voilà!

I had made some Peter Pan hats for all the boys and the girls had Tinker Bell’s wings.  It was awesome to see all the kids dressed up and ready to celebrate our baby boy!

I had made a huge 5 story cake.  One of my best looking cake ever!  But the instant we brought is outside, it started to melt due to all the humidity, so it became 2 cakes!

A few days prior to my boys birthday, I usually do a photo shoot.  It’s less stressful for them to take some great pictures without wanting to play with all the friends and it gives me great décor, as everything is already there.  Pictures are the best.  Also, I find that my kids love to look back on their birthdays and reminisce.  I’ve created small birthday booklet for each of their birthdays.  Chatbooks is the best for that.  Each book are about 8$ each, so even if they ruin one, I don’t get upset. For the Pan photo shoot, I probably used all the frames in our house for the occasion, and I was able to capture one of my favorite picture ever.

We had hot dogs and salads, and then popcorn for the movie!  And as always, too much cake!  We also had Brian’s cousin do some face painting and balloon animals.  It was a hit.

Birthday parties are always too short if you ask me!  Wish they’d last forever, so my boys could still be babies!  It’s so hard to see them grow up like that, but they have to, so at least we celebrate every year with style and fun!  I love to plan it all out and then see it come to life.  This one was for the books… I will never forget the day my baby turned 2: ‘second star to the right and straight on till morning’.

i love shoes, painted shoes

14192610_10154256435196293_2335642398004291771_n

I didn’t invent anything: shoes and paint; simple!

My mom made us dozens of them while growing up.  We had a basket of fabric paint in our house that my aunt Lucie bought me for my first communion; sounds boring, right?  But no, best first communion gift ever!

Well, fast-forwarding a few years later, now with two boys of my own, lets say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, since now I’m the one who paints shoes for my kids!

It started 2 years ago…  I had an old pair of TOMS laying around, we were going to Disney, so I decided to make Mickey and Minnie ears’ shoes!  They were a hit!!  Then last year,  I did four pairs of Minions shoes for the movie premiere, one pair for the boys, one for my mom and one for myself.

14212820_10154256435371293_3864486894560713235_n

This year, we were going to Disneyland and I had a few ideas in mind for our trip!  Jojo got one, Liam and Logan each got one as well, and I made myself 2;  I’m the one who makes them after all!!!

I got my first official order a few weeks ago: a tiny pairs of Shopkins shoes.  Thanks Isabelle for being my first customer!  I had so much fun making these.  I just got my second order from a coworker.

So here’s a few pictures of the shoes I made this summer!

Need a pair?

We had a plan:  Get in, no pictures, run, go to Cars Land and get in line for Radiator Springs Racers.  I was a woman on a mission, ride the most sought after ride within 15 minutes of our arrival!  CHECK!

With less than 10 minutes wait, we got a McQueen Racer.  The kids were (who am I kidding, I was) beyond excited!  What a ride!  Gorgeous scenery, the music, the atmosphere and then the race…our boys were scared but so happy we had won!  What a thrill!  We now had to get fast passes to ride at night.  CHECK!

Cars Land was beyond anything I had ever experience.  We were transported into the movie.  It’s one of our family’s favorite.  Cars Land did not disappoint.  We rode Luigi Rollickin Roadsters and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, we laugh so much!  We took a walk with McQueen.  Life was perfect!  We got to the Cozy Cones and Liam fell in love…with a cone!  It was hilarious!  Pictures, hugs and kisses, and promises to come back later that day!

We now had to explore the rest of the park!  Brian and Josée did California Screamin’ 3 times in a row, we played the arcades and won a Mickey!  Got a few churros, man these things are good!  And then magic!  Logan needed a bathroom break, so Brian took him.  On their way, a cast member stopped them and asked if they liked Toy Story.  Of course they said yes!  Woody then came out, gave Logan a sheriff badge and a certificate.  They took pictures together and Logan was named Sheriff of Andy’s toy box!  Only one person a day get this special treatment and Logan (and his family) was the lucky one!  We got fast passes for rides, first in line for meet and greets with Disney characters and some privilege seating for the World of Color show.  Thanks Woody and Disney!

We had ice cream and margaritas, more churros, Mickey shaped ice cream and frozen slushies!  We rode Goofy’s Sky Flight, Tower of Terror, Soarin’ Over California, , Monsters Inc, and more!  We got to spend time alone with Anna and Elsa, Buzz, Woody, Olaf and Judy Hopps aka Judy Bunny for Logan!  Walking across this park is a treat in itself!  The beautiful theaters, buildings, the lake and the most gorgeous ferris wheel ever!

We also got amazing tickets for the new Frozen show at the Hyperion.  Forth row, a show worthy of Disney Broadway.  It was magical.  We loved it!

We now had a ride to catch in Cars Land!  Liam, Josée and myself, got back to the Racers for one last drive.  Radiator Springs Racers is even better at night!

One of the things I loved most in the movie Cars, is when the main street gets lit up, all the cars are riding to ‘Sheeboom’.  At 8:03, the same music started, and one by one, they lit up the buildings!  I got chills and a bit teary eyed.  I wish I could have froze the time there.  And then Dj’s came rolling down the street with some Flo’s V8 waitresses and it was party time!

Time had come to take our places for World of Color.  A beautiful show of water, lights and special effects.  The last 60 years of Disney was portraid in a magical way that only Disney can do!  I left the park with tears of happiness and bit of sadness.  For the beautiful day we had spent together, the special memories we had created and how lucky I was to be here with my family.  Sadness, I wanted everyone I love to be there with us.  Sadness because we would never have this day again.  My babies would be older the next day and maybe we would never get to go back…It was hard to say goodbye.

Last year, Camp Woods got it’s start!  Our kids don’t go to summer camps, so I decided to bring the summer camps to us!  The last two summers, I’ve chosen weekly themes based on their interest (who am I kidding, I choose theme according to what I want to do!!!  After all, I’m chief of Camp Woods!)

In 2015, we had Cars, Big Hero 6, Pirate Week and Minions.

Food, crafts, treats, visit to the theater and costumes are all part of the fun!  My boys love it!  They have no clue what’s coming and are mostly excited about everything that I propose!  It keeps them entertained and it’s make me less lazy!

This year was extra special, when school ended, we only had a couple of days before our trip to California.  So, we had a countdown Disney theme for 12 days!  My favorite week EVER!  After we got back, we had: Pokémon, Cars, Bunny, Mario Bros, Nemo and Star Wars weeks!

So here a few pictures of Camp Woods 2016!  We had a blast…now, we must get ready for back to school!

our first trip to disneyland- part one

IMG_1936

Needless to say, I’m a Disney fan!  Or Disney addict!

Theme parks, movies, shows and everything in between.  The moment I knew my due date for Liam, we had a trip planned, 3rd birthday at Disney World in 2014.  It never occurred to me to visit Disneyland in California, until my mother decided to get married in Vegas.  Wanting another Disney vacation, wheels in my head started turning NON-STOP about going to DISNEYLAND.  It was meant to be, Disneyland 60th Anniversary, a wedding in California and one in Vegas within one week, my decision was made.  For the first time, we would visit the park where the magic started!  The four of us and Josée, Logan’s godmother, cousin, friend and best travel company anybody could have, we traveled to California for a once in a lifetime trip!

We only had two day to visit two parks.  Many hours were spent researching what rides to do, what show to see, what food to eat and where that special Mouse would be!  I knew the maps of the parks by heart, we needed a bathroom, I knew where to find one!  The best places for the parades, we got them!  I had dreams and dreams about the parks and how it would all play out!  My bucket list was long, my expectations high and my wish list a mile long!  Like magic, our two days in Disneyland were better than imagined…they were perfect!

We got there for the opening, Mickey ears in place, ready to explore!  The boys were ready.  I created two mini-Disney addict within 5 years!  They could not wait to meet their favorite characters.  And so was I!  We go to meet Tinker Bell, and it will probably be one of my favorite memory ever.  Liam has a stuff crocodile from the movie Pirate Fairy, he’s been carrying that thing for almost 2 years.  When we got to meet Tink, she immediately recognized Crocky and was all over the boys.  The love she showed them was above and beyond.  Hugging them, talking with them and trying french words was awesome!  We spent 5 minutes alone with her and that’s 5 of the best minutes of my life!

The lines for the rides were short, some non-existent!  Logan did Splash Mountain, something Brian will regret his entire life!  We rode the classic Perter Pan’s Flight, It’s a Small World, Dumbo and Mad Tea Party!  We did a few of the grown-up rides during the boys nap.  The afternoon parade was awesome!  Logan could not stop screaming at what was coming, he would grab our wrist and try to push us on the street to see what he was seeing!  Peter Pan found us, or rather Crocky!  He tried to have Crocky eat Hook!  I had my first Dole Whip!  I should dedicate an entire post on this fabulous snack!!!  It was as awesome as everybody says!  All the food was amazing!  Weather was crazy hot!  We bought balloons, light up glow swords, Ariel’s bubble maker for Lulu and the little peas from Toy Story!  Liam found out about Star Wars and now wants everything BB8!  Logan found out he doesn’t like rides as much as he though!  I found out I loved Disney even more than I though!  My husband found out that it would not be our last Disney trip!!!

The new Paint the Night Electrical Parade was beautiful and the fireworks after made me cry like a baby.  Magical fireworks, Frozen song and snow falling on our head was more than our hearts could handle!

We opened and closed the parks and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I wasn’t gonna miss a minute!  The boys were awesome, they should get a medal!  We were lucky; no crying, no wining and didn’t ask for too much stuff!  I spent an enormous of time telling them how lucky they were to be there, to eat Mickey shaped ice cream and to view those beautiful parades.  I think they got it.   I would often ear “Nous on est vraiment chanceux hein Maman, hein?”  I made my heart explode!

Oh Disney, why do you have to be so far!  We’ve been back a month and everyday the boys are asking if we can go back!  So for now, we look at pictures and video, we watch our favorite movies and pretend plan our next trip!

Advice:  Don’t wait!  It’s my best advice!  Don’t wait until they’re older, don’t wait until they’ll remember it and just don’t wait!  Magic as no age, but younger kids see magic differently, it’s alive!  A life size mouse is only real for some time.  Snow falling on our head is only real in Disneyland on sizzling summer days!  Flying elephant might never get old for me, but for them, it might!  Our boys will never be this age again and they will grow out of wanting to meet the Princesses, but we will never regret taking the time to feel this magic and to live it through their eyes!

Disneyland, you exceeded our expectations.  You created magic, joy and love.  You gave us memories to last a lifetime.  Not sure we’ll have the chance to visit you again.

But until then, “if you can visualize it, if you can dream it, there’s some way to do it.”  -Walt Disney
